In today's job market, AI is used to hire and manage employees. But what if these AI systems are biased? The BIAS project, funded by the European Union, aims to fix this by identifying and reducing biases in AI.
We develop tools to detect and mitigate bias in AI, especially in Natural Language Processing (NLP). We analyse anonymized cover letters (or other textual data sources as CVs) to understand how specific words may cause bias in automated hiring.
